Rev. Dr. Melinda V. McLain is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, musician, and writer. She is pastor for Mira Vista United Church of Christ in El Cerrito.
She is currently working on a play with music about the American dust bowl entitled, The Broken Land.
She regularly performs in sacred and secular settings as a pianist, vocalist, and choral conductor.
Before seminary, she was an opera stage manager, political organizer, and public relations professional who worked for several non-profits during their inaugural year including: the Los Angeles Opera and the Feminist Majority.
Melinda holds a B.A. in Music from Rice University, a M.Div. from San Francisco Theological Seminary, and a D.Min. in postmodern ecclesiology from Drew University. She lives in a semi-rural area near San Francisco with her wife Colleen Rodger.
